Recently we posted on our Facebook page about the benefits of adding bananas to your diet. Besides being super tasty, they're loaded with fibre, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C - just to name a few. But, here at Me Mover, we're pretty realistic - having a plain old banana as a snack everyday would get boring pretty quickly so we thought we'd try and find some tasty alternatives to add banana to your diet. So what's the easiest and tastiest recipe to add fruit to your diet - a smoothie!
We wanted to find a smoothie recipe that was not only easy, tasty and healthy, but also one that you didn't need to have the entire contents of a health food store to make it. Thanks to Ali over at Gimme Some Oven for this super quick, super easy recipe.
Pineapple, Orange & Banana Smoothie
2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
2 bananas, peeled
1 orange, peeled
1 cup ice
1 tbsp ground flax seed or wheat germ (optional)
In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately
Note: If your blender is having trouble getting going, either add a dash of water or squeeze some juice out of the oranges.
If you think ahead, pre chop the fruit and stick them in the freezer, then there's no need for the ice.
